with a two storeybasement compliments

Charles RennieMackintosh’s 1909

building. It captures natural light through

three cylindrical“DrivenVoids”of smooth-

finished in-situ concrete tubes that punch

through thebuilding. Exposedgeometric

patterned concrete featurewalls give

a strikingand consistent appearance

throughout.

shared facility is organisedover three

levels, the interiors designed toencourage

collaboration ineducational and cultural

life and creates anexciting space.

Extended library facilities augmentedby

teaching, learningand social spaces are

arrangedaroundameandering“riverine”,

that offers exhibition and informal

gatheringenvironments.
